Knight of the Month for June: Patrick Cavanaugh
Pat continues to step up for our council in every way possible. Whether he is filling essential roles during meetings—most recently serving as our Inside Guard—or stepping in to support our broader operations, Pat’s presence is a constant pillar of strength. Notably, upon hearing that a District Deputy would not be available for our recent installation ceremony, he immediately volunteered to help, drawing on his deep wealth of experience to ensure the event proceeded smoothly. It is a testament to his character that he took on this responsibility without hesitation, even while managing his own physical ailments. This level of dedication is characteristic of Pat’s long history with the Knights of Columbus. Over the years, he has faithfully served in nearly every officer position within the Council, with his tenure as a District Deputy standing out as a particularly significant contribution to our district. Beyond his fraternal leadership, we are also deeply grateful for his unwavering commitment to our parish, where he has and continues to served faithfully in the choir for many years to come. Thank you, Pat, for your steadfast leadership, your spirit of service, and your continued commitment to our community and faith.
Family of the Month for June: Don & Jane Holzemer
We are proud to recognize Don and Jane Holzemer as our Family of the Month for June! Don and Jane have long been pillars of service in our community. Together, they lead the St. Mary Magdalen Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, where Don serves as Chairman to honor our local educators and faculty. Don’s dedication to our council and parish is exceptional. He served with distinction as our Financial Secretary for at least 17 years and remains instrumentally involved in planning and executing most of the council’s events. A faithful servant to the parish, Don is a longtime sacristan who serves not only at the 8:00 AM Sunday Masses but also at daily Masses. Beyond his work with the Knights, he also serves as the Treasurer of the Men’s Club and is an active participant in their many activities. Jane is a vital partner in this shared spirit of service. She stands alongside Don in his ministry, supporting his extensive work and accompanying him to many of the Knights’ events. Additionally, she extends her care to the broader community through her involvement with The Sharing Center events. Thank you, Don and Jane, for your outstanding leadership, decades of dedication, and enduring commitment to our community!
